The Toledo Humane Society believes that respect for living things, including animals and people, begins with education. The THS Education Department offers both onsite and offsite programs designed to appeal to different age groups and interests.
Research has shown that it helps to:
-Teach problem solving
-Create a sense of self-worth
-Foster compassion
-Encourage respect and responsibility
-Build a sense of family and community
Onsite Programs:
The Toledo Humane Society invites school and youth groups the opportunity to come to our facility and be taken on a tour by our Education Coordinator. Students will learn about what the Toledo Humane Society does, why shelters are important, and how everyone can help impact the lives of homeless animals.
Offsite Programs:
If onsite visits are not an option, our Education Coordinator can visit your school, daycare, or youth organization and give a presentation on humane education.
Our onsite and offsite programs book up quickly, so we recommend reaching out for information as soon as possible. Programs are not avaliable during the months of June through August due to Summer Camp Programs being held at the shelter.
Please note that programs exceeding 2 hours will be subject to increased pricing.
Payment is due before or on the day of your scheduled program or visit.
For more information or to schedule a visit, please email Jackie Kinnee, Education Coordinator, at JackieK@toledohumane.org.
