Get Involved

The Toledo Humane Society hosts a variety of events and youth programs to help us stay connected and involved with our amazing community.

The Toledo Humane Society believes that respect for living things, including animals and people, begins with education. The THS Education Department offers a variety of single and multi-day programs designed to appeal to different age groups and interests. To accommodate the busy schedules of students, we offer educational opportunities after school and on Saturdays. Costs will vary from program to program.

Tails Around Toledo

Jan 1 - Dec 31

10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Tails Around Toledo welcomes members of the community to visit the shelter and take one of our adoptable dogs out for a day on the town. You can give a dog a chance to stretch his or her legs, ride in the car, grab a yummy treat, and more! Our new program will be offered Sunday-Friday with advanced sign up required.

Microchipping Your Pet

Microchipping is available by appointment Monday through Thursday from 12:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m. The cost of a microchip is $25.00 and includes the activation of the microchip through PetLink. A microchip is a permanent ID tag that your pet will never lose. The microchip itself has no internal energy source, so it will last the life of your pet.

Host an Event

A Third Party Event can be defined as any fundraising initiative brought forward by an individual, community group, service club, or business external to THS (the beneficiary) who wish(es) to raise money or collect donations through a planned activity that is designed, managed and financially resourced by the external participants (the host).

To get started, please read and fill out our third party event application below. This application provides an in-depth look at what to expect when you are hosting a fundraiser to support THS. The Retail Shop

The 5,000+ square foot store offers furniture, jewelry, antiques, collectibles and more.

All proceeds from the THS Retail Shop directly support the animals at our shelter and help us to fulfill our ongoing mission to lead the community in efforts focused on relieving the suffering of, preventing cruelty to, and providing for the humane treatment of animals.
