Giving Tuesday: Give Life Saving Funds for Parvovirus Puppies

Event Details

Ready to take part in the largest celebration of generosity?

Your support makes a difference in the lives of so many animals in the Toledo community. This year's Giving Tuesday campaign will directly benefit the dozens of dogs and puppies who arrive at THS infected with Canine Parvovirus every year. These animals are given a second chance thanks to your generosity!

What is Parvovirus?

Canine parvovirus (CPV) is a highly contagious viral disease of dogs that commonly causes acute gastrointestinal illness in puppies. The disease most often strikes in puppies between six and 20 weeks old, but older animals are sometimes also impacted.

If left untreated, parvovirus is almost certainly fatal. THS is one of the few shelters in the state who can treat and care for parvovirus patients. We have a 80% success rate with our current treatment, but a new medication on the market, Elanco parvo treatment, can bring that closer to 99%. We are raising funds this Giving Tuesday for the care of our parvo warriors and aim to offer Elanco parvo treatment to all of our little fighters!

You're not just giving a donation. You're giving hope!

What is Giving Tuesday?

"Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity." -https://www.givingtuesday.org/
